“Biblical Parenting”

‘And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord.” Luke 2:22

Children are special blessings from God, just as Jesus was a special blessing to Mary and Joseph (His earthly father). His parents presented their son to God at the Temple according to all the Jewish laws. We know that Mary and Joseph were both well versed in the scripture because they knew all about the coming Savior. Mary understood when he Angel announced that she would be the mother of Jesus because she knew about the scriptures foretold of His coming. Her knowing the scripture gives us a good indication that she regularly attended the Temple and spent time in prayer. Being well versed in scripture is something parents today should strive for. Making church attendance a priority is also extremely important as well as being a prayer warrior for your children. Parents should follow the example given by Mary and Jospeh and be parents focused on God, prayer, church attendance, and knowing the word of God
